How has YPF positively impacted you and your career?
Young Professionals of Fond du Lac has been a great resource for me in my career. It has helped me expand my network, connect with other like-minded professionals in the area, and gain insights into different industries. Through events, mentorship and collaborative opportunities, I have continued to develop leadership skills, remain engaged in the community, and build relationships that have been valuable both personally and professionally. YPF is a great way to stay connected and is an outlet for career growth and development.

What words of wisdom would you share with other YP’s in relation to career building?
Invest in your network and get involved in your community. Building a career isn’t just about the job you do every day – it’s about the connections you made and the opportunities you foster. While often daunting, don’t be afraid to put yourself out there, ask questions, and learn from others. Build relationships, find mentorship opportunities, stay curious and challenge the status quo, and always be open to growth and constructive criticism. The more engaged you are, the more doors will open for you.

Who or what inspires and motivates you to be your best?
I find inspiration and motivation from a culmination of both personal and professional experiences. Personally, the drive to continue to learn, grow and contribute to our community keeps me motivated. Each day, I strive to be better than the day prior and knowing that every day is an opportunity to improve fuels determination.

Professionally, I draw inspiration and insight from leaders, mentors, and innovators who challenge the status quo and pursue goals with passion and resilience alike. People who lead with empathy, vision, and authenticity – whether in business or volunteerism, show that success is not just about achieving personal goals but also making meaningful impact. Humility is key.

Passion, dedication, collaboration and persistence are instinctual motivators among many. And, ironically, I find most motivation by doing good flying under the radar.

How do you use your strengths to make a difference in your career and engage in your community?
Leveraging my strengths to make a difference involves focus on both skillset and values, in alignment with opportunities to contribute meaningfully to my career and community. Success in difference making relies on communication and collaboration, adaptability and problem-solving, empathy and emotional intelligence, and continuous learning and curiosity. By recognizing and applying these strengths, we can make powerful strides within our community to foster an environment where collaboration, innovation, and giving back thrive.

Share a lesson you have learned or a nugget of advice with other YP’s:
Simple yet powerful advice would be to embrace change and challenge the status quo. It is easy to get caught up in the hustle to climb the career ladder or achieve superior success, but the most successful professionals are those who are committed to growth and positive change – both in their skills and the fast-paced environment that surrounds. Ask questions, seek feedback, and be open to new ideas, even if they challenge your current thinking and structure. This mindset not only helps career evolution but also builds resilience in the face of change. Stay humble.

Name something you enjoy doing in the Greater Fond du Lac Area that others should check out:
Though often murky in color, embrace Lake Winnebago and what it has to offer. It is a great spot to live and for boating, fishing, watersports, and traveling to local waterfront restaurants. Whether at sunrise or sunset, or in the middle of a sunny day, it’s a place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the Fond du Lac area.

What do you love about the Fond du Lac area today and what is your hope for its future?
Fond du Lac offers a nice balance of a close-knit community and adjacent proximity to amenities of a larger city. The people here are welcoming, and there’s a robust sense of connection and pride in our community. We have great outdoor spaces like Lakeside Park, a growing downtown with restaurants, shops and establishments for refreshment, and plenty of opportunities for both personal and professional growth. It is a great place to work and play, build a career and find a sense of home.

Why should Young Professionals consider joining YPF?
Joining YPF can offer a variety of opportunities for career growth, and personal and professional development. Being a part of YPF will provide networking opportunities, skill development, local industry insights, social engagement, leadership opportunities, professional support and increased visibility. Excitingly, YPF can help accelerate career growth, broaden your network, and enhance your professional skill set in a collaborative environment.
