Marian University men’s basketball (14-3, 7-3 NACC) had four scorers in double-figures but fell to No. 7 Wisconsin Lutheran 79-66.
- Marian held a slim 4-2 lead before Wisconsin Lutheran went on a 13-3 run to lead 15-7.
- The Sabres kept the deficit manageable trailing by as little as four on a couple of occasions.
- Just as Marian cut in to the Warrior lead, however, WLC seemed to have a response preventing a lengthy Sabre run.
- A late triple from junior Brandon Adorno put Marian down 35-29 at halftime.
- The Warriors opened the second half building its lead to 13 at 49-36 with 15:13 to play.
- Marian chipped away at the deficit and managed to trail by just four with 10:40 left at 57-53.
- Just like the first half, the Warriors were able to prevent Marian from going on a lengthy run and led by at least six the rest of the way.
- The Warriors were able to put away the game going 6-for-6 at the charity stripe in the final minute.
- Marian finished 21-of-58 (.362) from the field and 6-of-26 (.231) from beyond the arc.
- Wisconsin Lutheran was 27-of-66 (.409) and 9-of-31 (.290) on three-pointers.
- The Warriors were 14-of-27 (.519) in the second half from the field and 5-of-12 (.417) on triples.
- The Sabres had a good game at the charity stripe going 18-for-21 (.857).
- Wisconsin Lutheran outscored Marian 13-3 in points off turnovers and 25-18 in second chance points.
- Marian falls to 34-42 all-time against WLC having dropped the last 12 meetings.

Junior Alex Vassilakis had his second double-double of the season scoring 10 points to go with 13 rebounds, six being offensive. Junior Brandon Adorno scored a game-high 18 points to go with two assists. Senior Eli Vogel chipped in 13 points and had five rebounds. |
