Having sold 47 machines since 2017, AL-INS has emerged in Fond du Lac as the only company in the world producing 100% American-made screw press separators for the dairy farming, food waste and whiskey distilling industries. Co-founder Aaron Kuhls, who grew up on a dairy farm, says 70% of what the company makes today is targeted to that industry, but there are a wide range of uses and possibilities for separators — and that the AL-INS product was designed to make it 15 times easier to service than competing products. “We didn’t reinvent the wheel; we just made a better wheel,” Kuhls says.
