Marian University NCAA men’s hockey (3-4-0, 2-2-0-0 NCHA) defeated Dubuque 5-2 behind a three-goal third period for a sweep of the Spartans.

- A back-and-forth first period saw Dubuque score a power-play goal with 3:52 left in the opening period to take a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
- The Sabres dominated the second period and evened the score at teh 8:46 mark when senior Nicholas Cherkowski lit the lamp with an assist from fellow senior Nolan Kadachuk.
- Senior Jordan Simoneau then gave Marian its first lead 2:43 later with an assist from fellow senior Adam Nobes.
- This 2-1 advantage held going into the final period.
- Junior Jaymes Knee was able to give Marian a 3-1 lead at the 8:37 mark with assists from freshman Caden Carlson and sophomore Noah Pickart.
- Pickart then lit the lamp himself with 4:53 left to play as the Sabre power play was able to take advantage of a major Dubuque penalty.
- The Spartans didn’t go away quietly scoring just 44 seconds later with a short-handed goal to cut its deficit to 4-2.
- Simoneau was able to ice the game in the final minute scoring an empty-net goal that also occurred during the major Dubuque penalty. Freshman Jordan Edwards was credited with an assist.

- The Sabres finished with a 38-20 advantage in shots including a second period that saw Marina outshoot the Spartans 17-2.
- Marian held a slim advantage in face-off wins at 37-31.
- The Sabre power play had two goals on eight chances, while the penalty kill allowed one goal on five Spartan opportunities.
- Marian secures a six-point weekend for the first time since a sweep of Finlandia Feb. 4-5, 2022.
