Gloria Rens, an SSM Health Pharmacy clerk in Waupun, has been named the newest recipient of the BEE (Be Exceptional Everyday) Award.
Rens was nominated after helping a patient who called on a Saturday who was out of medications and was checking on an anticipated home delivery. After consulting with the pharmacist and technician, the patient’s medication order was confirmed.
The nomination shared, “Gloria knew the patient had no way of getting to the pharmacy to get her meds so she offered to help. She got them rang through the register and took her personal vehicle to get them to her. The patient was very appreciative that she did that knowing we don’t deliver on Saturdays and that she is not a delivery person. That showed excellent customer service and compassion from Gloria.”
The BEE Award is specifically designed to recognize non-nursing staff members who demonstrate great teamwork and communication skills, collaboration, professionalism, exemplary service, and a commitment to excellence.
