The SSM Health Fond du Lac Regional Clinic is welcoming Erin Salter, MD, a board-certified urologist. She is now accepting patients in Fond du Lac.

Dr. Salter specializes in diagnosing and treating health concerns including male and female urinary dysfunction, urologic cancers (kidney/bladder/prostate), and female pelvic organ prolapse.

A graduate of the Saint Louis University School of Medicine, Dr. Salter completed her urology residency at the Albany Medical Center. She is a member of the American Urologic Association.

Dr. Salter chose the field of urology due to its “unique combination of treating sensitive health conditions from urinary issues to sexual dysfunction to cancer while incorporating cutting edge technology and a detail-oriented approach to treatment planning.”

When meeting with patients, Dr. Salter believes in shared decision making. “This approach incorporates patients’ values into their care while also improving patient knowledge of their condition.”

Dr. Salter’s ability to diagnosis conditions early and provide evidence-based care leading her patients to have health care outcomes that allow for long and full lives. “It’s important to give patients a space to discuss topics that may seem embarrassing or scary in other settings. It’s very fulfilling to help patients navigate the multiple options for their care and assist in selecting the option that best suits their life and goals.”

During her free time, Dr. Salter – a Fond du Lac High School graduate – enjoys raising American Quarter horses, hiking, trying new recipes, and searching for mid-century modern treasures. She enjoys fall color changes every year in Wisconsin, as well as traveling to national parks to explore the wide variety of stunning American landscapes.
