The SSM Health Fond du Lac Regional Clinic welcomes Karen Williams, an orthopedics nurse practitioner, to its 421 Camelot Drive clinic (Health Plaza A) in Fond du Lac. She is now accepting new patients.
Williams provides comprehensive, advanced orthopedic care to patients of all ages. She will work with patients in their recovery following total joint replacement procedures, as well as working with patients experiencing acute musculoskeletal concerns, such as fractures, or acute/chronic joint pain.
A graduate of Marian University with a master’s degree in family nurse practitioner, Williams is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
For the past nearly 10 years, Williams has provided nursing care at SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital in its surgical and pediatric care unit. “Over the last five years, I have been working with ortho patients before and after surgery,” Williams says. “I have really grown to enjoy working with this population of patients, and I find it so rewarding to be a part of someone’s journey as they go through the healing and recovery process.”
Williams is looking forward to partnering with patients through their orthopedic journeys. “The key to having a good working relationship with patients and their families is based off trust and respect,” according to Williams. “I strive to maintain a good rapport with my patients.
“The biggest thing that motivates me professionally would have to be the patients I care for,” Williams adds. “Knowing that I ma making a difference, and able to help others, gives me the motivation to continue providing the best care to my patients and their families.”
In her time away from her practice, Williams loves spending time with her two little boys. “Family is very important to me so spending quality time with them as often as I can brings me joy. In between family time, I enjoy cooking and coming up with new recipes. I also do enjoy playing tennis.”
Williams finds great satisfaction is providing the best care to her patients. “I enjoy helping people and it gives me great joy to know that I’ve made a difference in their lives by the care I’ve provided for them. I am also pleased when I’m able to work through complicated issues and bring forward potential solutions to help patients with any concerns they may be experiencing.”
