SSM Health Fond du Lac Market welcomes new vice president of operations

SSM Health is welcoming Bill Boyd as the new St. Agnes Hospital vice president of operations.

In his role, Boyd will oversee hospital operations, ensure quality service delivery, and support the growth and development of health care initiatives in the Fond du Lac market. He will also oversee multiple service lines for SSM Health Wisconsin.

“Bill brings extensive leadership experience and a deep commitment to fostering excellence in health care and community collaboration,” according to Shane Smith, SSM Health Fond du Lac Market president. “We look forward to his leadership and contributions as we continue to serve the community with innovation and compassion.”

Boyd most recently served as the chief operating officer and senior advisor for Value Capture, LLC, a national consulting firm for chief executives looking to transform their health care organizations performance in safety, quality, and profitability.

Prior to Value Capture, Boyd served was an operational leader with ThedaCare where he served in numerous roles including focus areas, such as laboratory, nursing, oncology services, and perioperative services.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in medical technology from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and a master’s degree (MS) in public administration with healthcare emphasis from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

Boyd is excited to be part of SSM Health. “SSM Health is a known industry leader and also an innovative and thought-leading organization,” according to Boyd. “While those attributes were a big draw for me, joining SSM Health also meant being part of a faith-based organization allowing me to bring more of my full self to my work every day.”

He is looking forward to expanding his previous work of leading in health care and working with great leaders in health care.

“I’ve seen what is possible in exceptional health systems,” Boyd says, “and I look forward to bringing those learnings to SSM Health and the Wisconsin communities my work will influence.”
