Similac Formula Recall 2022

There is currently a recall on Similac powdered infant formula, the primary type Fond du Lac County WIC offers. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is advising consumers not to use Similac, Alimentum, or EleCare powdered infant formulas if:

  • the first two digits of the code are 22 through 37 and
  • the code on the container contains K8, SH, or Z2, and
  • the expiration date is 4-1-2022 (APR 2022) or later.

To assist our Fond du Lac County WIC families in exchanging their formula if needed over the weekend, the Fond du Lac County Health Department will be open:

Friday, February 18th until 6:00pm

Saturday, February 19th from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Sunday, February 20th from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Fond du Lac County WIC Families affected by the recall can bring in their recalled formula to the Health Department to receive alternate formula to get through this immediate need. Families should check the formula they have before coming in to the office using the Similac link, or by calling 1-800-986-8540.

Individuals can visit https://www.similacrecall.com/us/en/product-lookup.html to enter information about their formula product and find out if it is part of the recall. If you are not a WIC participant and have a product that is part of the recall, it can be discarded or returned to the store it was purchased from for a refund.

Please call the WIC office at (920) 929-3104 with any questions.
