Samaritan Cash Raffle tickets now available

Tickets are now on sale for the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation’s annual Samaritan Cash Raffle, with the top prize of $50,000.

The 2023 drawing is scheduled for noon on Wednesday, May 10 on the Greater Fond du Lac’s Facebook page. First prize is $50,000; second prize, $10,000; third prize, $5,000; fourth & fifth prize, $2,500; sixth to 10th prize, $1,000; and 11th to 20th prize, $500 each.

The raffle is being sponsored in part by the Fond du Lac County Medical Society, and Shea Electric & Communications, LLC.

The SSM Health Samaritan Clinic – which opened in 1992 – provides health care to around 500 underinsured patients annually. The clinic works to provide a full spectrum of care, helping individuals to navigate insurance options, finding a primary care provider, and working with local community resources if other needs arise.

The clinic is funded by donations through the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation and Samaritan Cash Raffle proceeds.

“The Samaritan Clinic is such a noteworthy cause because it helps provide critical health care services to the poor and vulnerable without duplicating other services available in our community,” according to Shawn Fisher, Agnesian HealthCare Foundation executive director. “We’re able to offer acute care services and better continuity of care for those patients with chronic illnesses.”

Tickets are now available for $50 each, four for $150 or nine for $300. Due to updated Wisconsin raffle regulations, tickets must be purchased in person by cash or check.

They are available at the following locations: Annie’s Fountain City Café, BackYard Grill & Bar, Bauer Chiropractic, Beans & Bites, Blanck’s Supper Club, Cedar Lodge, Central Barber, Create Salon & Spa, Doyle-Kelly Family Dentistry, Fond du Lac Family YMCA, Fond du Lac Regional Clinic satellite locations, Fox Valley Savings Bank, Fred’s Fastrac Sales & Service, Gathered Roots, Guth’s Candy, Jack Twohig Carpet One, Just Love Coffee, Michels Corporation, Partners by Design & Fine Furnishings, Philly’s on 4th, Pump N Pantry, Red Cabin at Green Acres, Ripon Community Hospital Information Desk, Schmitty’s Bar & Grill, St. Agnes Hospital Information Desk, Stuart’s Landscaping & Garden Center, The Goldsmith, Theo’s 24, Twohig Family Dentistry, Twohig Flooring America, Urban Fuel, Waupun Memorial Hospital Information Desk, and Wendt’s on the Lake.

Extending a level of compassion and support makes a world of difference for many Samaritan Clinic patients. “We embrace the patients we serve, looking at all their needs, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual,” says Heather Schmidt, DO, a family medicine and integrative health physician and 2023 cash raffle co-chairperson. “We support our patients in any way we can.”

Every four tickets sold helps one person in the community receive care through the Samaritan Clinic.

“The success of the annual cash raffle has a direct impact on local patients right here in our community,” says Ryan Kamphuis, president & CEO of Bristol Morgan Bank, who is serving as a 2023 cash raffle co-chairperson. “Proceeds stay local and support our family, neighbors, friends, and colleagues. The money we raise through the cash raffle is vital as the need for these services continues to grow.”
