Marian University softball (5-9, 0-2 NACC) was shutout twice falling to Dominican 4-0 and 6-0 in its home opener.

GAME 1
- A pitching duel to start, Dominican took the lead off of a two-out triple in the third.
- A costly error with two outs in the fifth allowed Dominican to plate three unearned runs.
- The Sabres were set down in order the rest of the way leading to the 4-0 final.
GAME 2
- The Stars came out swinging to open game two scoring two in the first, one in the second, and two more in the third to lead 5-0.
- Dominican added to its lead in the sixth inning but Marian was able to strand the bases loaded.
- This proved to be enough as the Sabres only had two runners reach scoring position in the defeat.
