Sabre men’s lacrosse stymied by MSOE

Marian University men’s lacrosse (2-8, 1-6 NACC) fell at home to MSOE by a final of 15-4.

  • Marian was able to score first when freshman Jack Moody found the back of the net 3:40 into the game.
  • The Raiders then scored seven straight to lead 7-1 at halftime.
  • The two sides traded goals to open the second half with senior Serge Simard scoring for Marian.
  • A pair of Raider goals in the final 2:14 put MSOE ahead 10-2 going into the fourth quarter.
  • Freshman Bennett Luke scored a man-up goal with an assist from fellow freshman Andrew Nesbitt to open the fourth quarter.
  • Marian would find the net once more with Simard netting his second as part of a 15-4 final.

  • The Raiders also had a 49-29 advantage for ground balls.
  • MSOE was 2-for-3 on man-up chances and Marian was 1-for-5.

Junior Jackson Sweeney stopped 19 shots and had a .559 save percentage.
Sophomore Jayden Gerhardt had four caused turnovers and three ground balls.
