Repovich, Meade selected as Sabres of the Month for March

Freshman Tyler Meade of Marian University men’s bowling and sophomore McKenna Repovich of Marian University softball have been named the Sabres of the Month for March.

Meade (Verona, Wis.) became just the second Sabre men’s student-athlete to qualify for the ISC National Championship after finishing fourth at the ISC Sectional Qualifier.  Meade finished with 1,463 total pins over six games for a 243.8 average.  He had at least 245 pins in four of the six games with a high game of 296.  Meade joins junior Jaysen Spanbauer as the only Sabres to qualify for the ISC National Championship where Spanbauer won the national title last season.  He adds this distinction after being named the GLBC Newcomer and Bowler of the Year earlier this season.

The ISC National Championship begins Tuesday, April 15 from South Point Bowling Plaza in Las Vegas, Nev.

Repovich (Plainfield, Ill.) had a dominating first month of the season in the circle.  She appeared in a team-high eight games logging 18.1 innings with a 1-0 record and a save.  Repovich posted the lowest earned run average in the conference for the month and held hitters to a .177 batting average.  She allowed multiple runs in just one of her appearances and allowed zero runs six times.  Her latest performance saw her go 3.0 innings at Ripon allowing just two hits to earn a save.  For her career, Repovich is now 7-0 with two saves and a 1.15 earned run average.

Marian softball is currently scheduled to host Lawrence Wednesday, April 2 at 3 p.m. for a non-conference doubleheader.
