Matthews Tire Gives Record Oil Change for the Better Donation of $16,000 to Hand-N-Hand of Northeastern Wisconsin

Matthews Tire presented a $16,000 check to Hand-N-Hand of Northeastern Wisconsin after their 19th Oil Change for the Better event held Aug. 1-5 and Aug. 8-12, 2022. Oil Change for the Better, traditionally a one-week event, was extended to two weeks this year, resulting in the largest donation in its 10-year history.

For every regular-priced oil change performed throughout the event at all six locations (in Appleton–East and West, Menasha, Waupaca, Fond du Lac and Green Bay), Matthews Tire donated $15 to Hand-N-Hand of Northeastern Wisconsin.

Founder and Director Jenny Geiken accepted the check on behalf of Hand-N-Hand. “Thank you for supporting our educational programs,” she beamed. “This donation not only supports our playgroups and classes, but it also spreads the awareness and knowledge needed to provide these unique services to many families in Northeast Wisconsin. It means so much!”

During the two-week event, Matthews Tire performed 500 oil changes per week, equaling $7,500 in donations per week. Matthews Tire generously rounded up the totals each week to $8,000 for a grand total donation of $16,000.

“Thank you to everyone who helped to make Oil Change for the Better a success. When we decided to extend the event to two weeks, we knew it had the potential to make a significant impact,” Matthews Tire President Trevor Rezner shared. “We’re proud to gift this record donation to a small, local charity that can really make a big difference in our communities,” shared Trevor Rezner, president of Matthews Tire.
