Marian track and field opens outdoor season at Wisconsin Private College Championships

Marian University track and field kicked off its outdoor season competing at the Wisconsin Private College Championships.

  WOMEN

  • Marian had two runners compete in freshmen Ryaan Williams and Madeline DeVries.
  • Williams ran the 100-meter dash in 15.14 seconds and the 200-meter dash in 33.8 ticks.
  • DeVries competed in the 1,500-meter run finishing with a time of 7:54.2.

MEN  

  • Junior Matthew Linn highlighted the meet for Marian finishing 11th in the shot put with a Marian record of 12.1 meters.
  • He also was 14th for the discus with a throw of 34.45 meters.
  • In the running events, junior Max Ramker had the fourth-fastest 100-meter dash at 11.68 seconds to finish in 20th.
  • Senior Connor Powers also put his name in the record books with the fifth-fastest 400-meter dash clocking in at 53.76 seconds, good for 13th.
  • The duo each ran the 200-meter dash with Powers besting Ramker by just 0.2 seconds to finish in 17th and 19th.
