Marian University men’s basketball (3-0, 0-0 NACC) earned a 78-56 win over Maranatha Baptist, the first 3-0 start for the Sabres since the 2000-01 season.

- Marian scored the first 11 points of the game and promptly forced a Sabercat timeout just three minutes in.
- A Sabre run of 15-2 shortly after put Marian ahead 31-6 with just 5:25 left in the first half.
- Marian was able to maintain this advantage and went into halftime ahead 40-16.
- Already with a 49-27 lead, Marian scored seven unanswered to build a 29-point lead.
- The Sabres maintained a comfortable lead and built their advantage to as large as 30 with 3:44 and 2:57 to play.
- An 11-3 run from MBU to end the game set the final at 78-56.

- Marian shot 29-of-76 (.382) for the game and 10-of-36 (.278) from beyond the arc.
- The Sabercats finished 20-of-44 (.455) from the field but just 1-of-7 (.143) on three-point attempts.
- The Sabres forced 25 turnovers and outscored Maranatha Baptist 31-2 in points off turnovers.
- Marian also grabbed 21 offensive rebounds and converted them to 14 points.
- The Sabres are now 46-6 all-time against Maranatha Baptist and on a seven-game winning streak.
