Marian baseball finishes homestand with dominating win over Carroll

Marian University baseball (14-14, 8-6 NACC) closed out a six-game homestand defeating Carroll 10-3.

  • Carroll opened the scoring in the top of the first but it only lasted an inning as senior Gus Walker drove in a pair of runs in the bottom of the second.
  • The Sabres then pushed across four runs in the third highlighted by a single from graduate student Dylan Pease that brought home two runs.
  • Marian was able to push its lead to 9-1 with three more runs in the fourth.
  • The Pioneers led off the fifth inning but a first-and-third double steal in the bottom half put Marian ahead 10-2.
  • Carroll was able to add a run in the sixth and it proved to be the final run for the game.
  • Marian is 14-6-1 all-time against Carroll with an 8-1-1 record over the last 10 meetings.

Graduate student Dylan Pease was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two runs driven in.
Freshman Rhett Emons was perfect over the final 2.0 innings striking out two hitters.
Senior Gus Walker was 2-for-3 with two runs driven in.
