Leadership Fond du Lac County Alumni presents Empty Bowls, 2024

Envision Greater Fond du Lac’s Leadership Fond du Lac County Alumni will host Empty Bowls on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Avenue 795 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. This year, guests can choose between dine-in service or take out (12:30 p.m. only). Sponsors this year include Bank First, Fond du Lac Noon Kiwanis, Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Benevolent Association, Fond du Lac Noon Rotary, Society Insurance, and SSM Health. Redtail Ridge Dairy is providing milk.

Empty Bowls, established in 2002, is a community-driven effort to fight hunger. The three-fold purpose of this event is to promote an awareness of hunger in our community and world; create an awareness of art education and its impact on civil and social responsibility; and provide an opportunity for the community to come together to raise money for local food pantries and shelters. Proceeds from this event benefit area food pantries.

“Empty Bowls is a community-wide event to raise awareness and funds for our local food pantries,” Tracy Qualmann, Leadership alumni ‘02 and 2024 Empty Bowls Planning Committee member, said. “In addition to the social justice aspect of this event, guests have the opportunity to enjoy six soups, bakery, and dessert from our local restaurants.”

Attendees will have the choice of eating their soups at Avenue 795 (during specific timeframes; no reserved tables) or taking their soup and accompaniments to go (take-out is at 12:30 p.m. only and must be pre-ordered). Regardless of choice, all who purchase a ticket will receive six soup samples (Backyard Grill & Bar , Mr. & Mrs. Catering, Salty’s Seafood & Spirits , Avenue 795, Boda’s Restaurant and Catering, and one yet to be determined ) bakery, a dessert, and water or milk.

There will also be an opportunity to purchase tickets to win raffle baskets. All ticketed guests also have the option to take home a handmade bowl (limited quantity), or an aluminum spoon ornament donated by AL-INS Enterprises
