Horicon Bank Donates $15,000 to Environmental Causes

Horicon Bank is proud to announce a donation of $15,000 to 15 different community causes, all dedicated to benefiting the environment.

Horicon Bank president Fred C. Schwertfeger says the contribution is made in honor of customers’ response to the bank’s recent eStatement campaign which encouraged choosing a greener option for monthly bank statements.

“As a company committed to sustainability, we are thrilled to see our customers embrace digital statements, reducing paper waste and contributing to a healthier planet,” said Schwertfeger. “This initiative not only reflects our dedication to environmental stewardship but also highlights the collective effort of our community in making a positive impact.”

The 15 community causes receiving donations were chosen by bank employees of each community. The causes range from conservation projects to educational programs on sustainability.

“Each organization plays a vital role in fostering a greener future, and we are honored to support their work with these donations,” said Schwertfeger.

The organizations each receiving a $1,000 donation include:

  • City of Beaver Dam Tree Planting Project in local parks
  • Fond du Lac Audubon Society
  • Friends of Horicon Marsh
  • Heckrodt Wetland Preserve
  • Little Green Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District
  • Marsh Haven Nature Center
  • Milwaukee Parks Foundation

  • River Edge Nature Center
  • Roots and Branches, Inc.
