Want to try a different piece of equipment in the Fond du Lac Public Library’s Idea Studio? Join any of the Badge & Make sessions planned for November to get trained while creating something fun to take home.
Badge & Make events fill up fast, so visit calendar.fdlpl.org two weeks before each event when registration opens. Upcoming events include:
Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 6 p.m.: Teens will be trained on how to use the sublimation equipment. Then, they can design a mug to sublimate and bring home for free. This class is strictly for youth ages 13 to 18.
Monday, Nov. 18 at 6 p.m.: Participants will learn how to use the Idea Studio’s Janome sewing machine and make a pot holder to bring home.
Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 5:30 p.m.: Get badged on our Glowforge Laser Pro and engrave a small design onto a wooden ornament. Must be 18+ to participate.
The public also is invited to join the November meeting of the Cut & Paste Club at 6 p.m. Stop down to the Idea Studio to decorate tunnel books using cut out images from books and magazines to be glued into a precut book. Register at calendar.fdlpl.org.
Most programs are open to anyone but youth under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian (unless otherwise noted). Other badging opportunities also exist for Idea Studio equipment; check calendar.fdlpl.org for times and availability.
The Idea Studio is open for walk-in visits Monday through Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m., Friday from 3 to 6 p.m., and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.
