Alsteen pitches way to NACC weekly award

Senior Tanner Alsteen of Marian University baseball has been named the NACC Pitcher of the Week.

Alsteen (Casco, Wis.) was just about perfect on the bump leading Marian to a pair of victories without allowing a single earned run. He opened the week with a shutout of Edgewood tossing all 9.0 innings scattering eight hits and allowing just one unearned run.  Then in a relief appearance against Dominican, he tossed the final 4.0 innings allowing just one hit to lead Marian to a comeback win.  He needed just 141 pitches to cover his 13.0 innings of work on the week.

Marian travels to St. Norbert tomorrow, Wednesday, April 9, for a noon conference doubleheader.
